Micheal Morpurgo, the author of a new Hollywood blockbuster to be shot by Steven Spielberg, is to talk about his best-selling novel and acclaimed play War Horse, and other works, at Pentillie Castle on August 12 at 6.30pm.
The acclaimed West End production ‘War Horse’, a story about a boy and his colt set in the First World War, has entertained adults and children alike turning it into an international phenomenon, and now Steven Speilberg has just confirmed he will be filming the epic tale, shooting part of it on Dartmoor.
“We are thrilled to have an author of such international acclaim speaking at Pentillie,” said Pentillie’s owner Sarah Coryton. “It is sure to be a fascinating and hugely interesting evening for adults and children alike.”
Michael will also talk about his most recent works, including ‘Running Wild’, the story of a small boy rescued from the Tsunami by an elephant.
The talk will start at 6.30pm, and will cost £10 for adults, £7.50 for children under 12 years old. Michael has indicated that the talk will be child friendly. Refreshments including a BBQ and bar will be available. Pentillie Castle is located at Paynter’s Cross, near St Mellion, close to Plymouth.
